To use your xsyte with a custom domain name you must point your DNS record to our load balancers.
To do this...
If you do not already have DNS hosting for your domain name, you can get them free from namecheap.com.au → https://www.namecheap.com/domains/freedns.aspx
If you do have DNS Hosting already, you can skip to step 4.
- Signup for FreeDNS using your domain name.
- Once you have signed up, NameCheap will provide you with nameservers you can use with your domain name. Point your domain to these new nameservers. (Do this from your domain registrar's website)
- Log into the namecheap DNS Hosting area so you can change the records for your domain
- Find your @ record, make it a CNAME record and point it to :
dualstack.awseb--awseb-g5g1exbyyia7-1541111983.ap-southeast-2.elb.amazonaws.com
You can create subdomain CNAME records such as www and point them to dualstack.awseb--awseb-g5g1exbyyia7-1541111983.ap-southeast-2.elb.amazonaws.com if you need your @ A record for other things such as email or other websites.
