Managing Graphics and Media

Admin > Customize > Images & Files — Media library with categories (Avatar, Team Logo, Division Logo, etc.)

XSYTE includes a full media management system for uploading, organizing, and using images, audio files, and documents across your site.

Accessing the Media Library

Navigate to Admin > Graphics to view all your uploaded media. You can filter by name, filename, or category (set name), and browse with pagination.

Uploading Media

You can upload files in two ways:

Direct Upload

1. Go to Admin > Graphics > Upload
2. Select one or more files from your computer
3. Files are automatically uploaded to cloud storage
4. Each file gets a name, category, and all image sizes are generated automatically

Upload from URL

1. Go to Admin > Graphics
2. Click Add from URL
3. Paste the image URL
4. XSYTE downloads and processes the image

Supported File Types

• Images: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, SVG
• Audio: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A (used for goal horns and sound effects)
• Documents: PDF

Automatic Image Sizes

When you upload an image, XSYTE automatically generates multiple sizes for responsive display:

• Original: Full-size upload
• Extra Large: 600x600px
• Large: 300x300px
• Medium: 150x150px
• Small: 100x100px
• Tiny: 50x50px (icons and thumbnails)
• Thumbnail: 150x150px square crop (gallery previews)

The system automatically selects the best size for each context, ensuring fast page loads.

Graphic Sets (Categories)

Graphics are organized into categories called Graphic Sets:

• Avatar: Member and user profile images
• Team Logo: Team branding images
• Division Logo: Division branding
• Player Headshot: Player profile photos
• Player Actionshot: Action photography
• Audio: Sound files (goal horns, etc.)
• PDF: Document files
• General: Everything else

Use Admin > Seed Graphic Set Names to automatically categorize all your graphics based on how they are used across the site.

Auto-Generated Graphics

XSYTE can automatically generate graphics for social sharing:

• Game Snapshots: Preview and result images for games (1024x626px), perfect for Facebook sharing
• Goal Snapshots: Individual goal detail images for social media
• Player Cards: Player card images (300x400px) for profiles and sharing

Best Practices

• Use high-quality images (the system will generate smaller sizes automatically)
• Name your graphics descriptively so they are easy to find later
• Use the correct graphic set category when uploading
• Periodically review and clean up unused graphics
