Logging Game Statistics

This guide covers how to enter and manage game statistics in XSYTE, whether you are scoring live during a game or entering stats afterward.

Entering Stats After a Game

1. Navigate to the game in Admin > Games or find it in the schedule
2. Click on the game to open it
3. Click Score Game or Enter Stats
4. Enter the final score for each team
5. For each player, enter their individual statistics (goals, assists, penalties, etc.)
6. Click Save

Live Scoring

XSYTE supports live scoring during games using the scoreboard feature:

1. Open the game and click Live Score or Scoreboard
2. The scoreboard interface lets you track events in real time
3. Record goals, assists, penalties, and other events as they happen
4. Stats are automatically calculated and updated
5. Spectators can follow along on the public game page

Goalie and Keeper Stats

Goaltender statistics are tracked separately and include:

• Shots Against: Total shots faced
• Saves: Shots stopped
• Goals Against: Goals allowed
• Save Percentage: Automatically calculated (saves / shots against)
• GAA (Goals Against Average): Calculated across multiple games
• Shutouts: Games with zero goals against

Mark which goalie started and which was the backup to ensure stats are attributed correctly.

Penalty Tracking

Record penalties with:

• Player who committed the penalty
• Penalty type (minor, major, misconduct, etc.)
• Penalty minutes
• Period and time of the penalty

Editing Stats After Saving

Stats can be edited after they have been saved. Navigate to the game, click Edit Stats, make your corrections, and save again. The standings and player profiles update automatically.

Bulk Stat Entry

For leagues that collect stats on paper or spreadsheets, you can enter multiple games at once through the admin interface. Each game in the schedule has an option to enter stats.

Tips for Accurate Stats

• Verify rosters before the game so the correct players are listed
• Double-check assist credits before saving
• Confirm goalie assignments (starter vs backup)
• Review stats after entry for obvious errors (e.g. more assists than goals)
